We all know worn tyres are an issue but what about old. Tyre manufacturers will state a life expectancy of either 5 or 10 years. Old tyres on a heavy caravan blasting down the highway for Christmas vacation is a bad day about to happen due to a blowout. There are a couple of things you can do to avoid that bad day. 1 Check your tyre pressures, flat tyres run hot. 2 check the age like the numbers in the photo. 3017 is the tyre production date, Week 30 in 2017. This 9 year old tyre was about to go on holidays when we did the service. The van was fine but not the tyres. Remember just a few simple checks and when unsure have a competent person check it out.
